The men, Todd Johnson, 40, of Poughkeepsie, and Jason Miller, 35, of Brewster, were arrested around 5:57 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 7, after being stopped by Yorktown Police for changing lanes unsafely after the officer recognized the vehicle as one allegedly involved in a larceny at Lowe's, said the Yorktown Police.
When the officer approached the vehicle, he saw two new chain saws still in the boxes with the anti-theft device attached in the backseat of the vehicle, Yorktown Police said.
An investigation found that both chain saws were stolen and the men were in possession of stolen property, police added.
While the two men were being processed, following their arrest, the officer determined that Johnson was wanted in a larceny at the Yorktown Lowe's store.
Johnson was charged with possession of stolen property and petit larceny. He was released on his own recognizance.
Miller was charged with possession of stolen property and several traffic infractions. He was also released on his own recognizance.
